About Us

The Stoker has two Editors Steve Smithers and Kate Poyser Clark. We are volunteers as are all of the team. We find working on a community magazine to be interesting, fun and very rewarding. Steve is excellent at using Publisher and makes sure the finished magazine looks as great as it does! Kate has taken on the task of running the online Stoker content and is learning lots about IT she never thought she would!

We also have a production team, Sandra our brilliant and patient treasurer. Ella who manages our advertisers and helps with social media posts. Jane who arranges, updates and delivers our wonderful welcome packs to new residents in the villages. Cheryl who has recently joined the team who proofs the magazine, does interviews, and is learning to edit and help Kate with the online content. Avis who writes the delicious recipes in the magazine, and writes some of our quizzes. Kate is currently managing subscriptions and Steve and Avis are getting the magazines to the volunteer deliverers of the paper magazines across the villages, but we would love some new volunteers to help out.
